We finally departed from Valparaiso around 7:00 am this morning, about 13 hours behind schedule. El Capitan told us yesterday that the delay will not prevent us from reaching Robinson Crusoe Island on schedule on February 17.
We have several lectures today that will introduce us to the places we will be visiting on this segment.

Valparaiso in the morning |
Tomorrow we arrive at Robinson Crusoe Island. Owned by Chile, Robinson Crusoe Island is the main island in the remote Juan Fernández Archipelago off the Chilean coast. We will anchor in the Cumberland Bay off the main city of San Juan Bautista. We will tender to the island beginning around 8:00 am. We have the day to roam at our leisure. The final tender back to the ship is at 4:30 pm.
